PHASES COACHING
HARNESS THE TRANSFORMATIONAL WISDOM of the five elements of Classical Chinese Medicine to strategize, solve problems, and get aligned with your purpose. We all have a tendency to work with one element by nature, but have access to the wisdom and power of all of them.
“Dr. Murphy has a wealth of knowledge and skill, and was able to lovingly and precisely show me aspects of myself that I wasn’t able to see on my own. I was surprised by the depth and power of what we explored together, and what was revealed continues to inform and guide my practices and journey towards a more whole, wise, kind, and integrated life.”
In session, we will determine which elements you have been primarily working with, and if there is an element you would like to enlist to approach your current challenges for new results.
Maybe you like facts, direct talk, and black and white thinking. This is the Metal element and it excels at clarity, order, and integrity. But it is stronger when it is rooted in Earth’s compassion and generosity; it is more expansive when softened by Fire’s creativity and bent toward joy.
The elements are all wise, they are all powerful. The more perspectives and strategies you have access to utilizing, the more successful you will be.
Wu Xing, or the five element theory, is also translated as five phase theory. Our energies go through phases, like seasons do and like the elements do. Life has its phases also, and we can align the phase we are going through with one of the five phases to get a more harmonious result. This can be helpful during times of transition such as a new career, becoming a parent, menopause, or dying.
My favorite translation of Wu Xing is Five Agents. When you are in touch with your own elemental nature, you can access all five agents of change to transform your life.
